1) Would $1,500 come in handy? The National Union of Public and General Employees is inviting students to enter a contest with a grand prize of $1,500 – Send in your writing, photos, songs, videos telling them Why Unions Matter.  Check the bright pink poster outside of Student Services to find out where to send your entry.

2) Hey Cavs, HRM Dance-A-Thon is happening March 7th  at Dartmouth High School.  All HRCE schools will be participating to help raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Tickets are $20, this covers your entrance, your donation, and a t-shirt for the event.  To attend this event you must sign an agreement form/ Registration form from Dartmouth High, and also be approved by our school's admin; if you are not in good standings with admin and dance events, you will not be approved to go. If you are interested in attending this HRM dance please contact your co-prezs, Julia Garlock, or Jason Giroux. Spots are limited.

3) The Annual Acts For Aids talent show is happening February 12th at Citadel High school. Each school has submitted an act and their talent will be showcased. Make sure to come support! Tickets are only $5 and all proceeds go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Tickets will be sold at lunch from February 4-8th.  

4) Attention Grade 12 students considering Cape Breton University after high school: CBU will be hosting an information evening on Thursday February 7th  6:30pm at The Hollis Halifax, a Double Tree Suites by Hilton. This event is for any students have applied or are looking to apply to CBU! The event will include Free onsite applications. Pre-registration is now open at cbu.ca/cbu101halifax and students have a chance to win a Bose speaker.

5) There is a pair of prescription glasses in a turquoise case in the main office.


6) Could Chris Babineau, the sound tech please come to the band room after announcements.

7) There is a WE Act meeting at lunch today.
