1) Grad Photo Retakes will take place February 21st. See our website for more details.
2) A representative from Mount Allison University will be in the cafetorium during lunch today. She will be able to offer on-the-spot admissions for any students still interested in applying, and will provide students with a promo code to waive their application fee. She will also have lots of information on Scholarship opportunities for those students who have already applied to Mt. A.
3) Canadian Forces Base Halifax is hiring High School students for summer work terms in a variety of professional fields. To find out more information apply online to CFB Halifax Summer Job Opportunities on the FSWEP website. Applications will close February 19th. 4) There will be a paint night to support our Prom on Feb. 27th from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Fee is $40. $20 will go towards our Prom. A signup sheet will be in the office.
5) March 15th is the deadline for NSCC Entrance Awards – any students planning to attend NSCC in September can go to the NSCC website and apply online.
6) Please bring your tickets for the Quebec Trip to the lobby at the beginning of first period.
7) This is an important announcement for all Grade 10 and 11 students – Course Selection for next year will begin here at school next week. Please ensure that you know your Power School login information, so that you will be able to access the course selection menus when your class is called to the computer lab.
8) The University of New Brunswick’s Winter Information Session will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, February 20th at the Double Tree Hilton, Wyse Road Dartmouth – this Parent and Student event will provide you with information about how to transition from high school to university successfully. Haven’t applied yet? Grade 12 students can have their application assessed at the event if you arrive by 6:30 and have applied online already – you will need your transcript and application fee of $65 on hand as well. 9) “Feel like being involved in your school community and enjoy planning events? SHINE, the Student Action Committee, is looking for new members. We team up with youth centers, such as Avalon and Macphee, to bring support and resources to our students and help to tackle problems specific to our school such as mental health, spirit, etc.
