1) Any boys curious about playing rugby are encouraged to come to a meeting today at lunch in room 120.

2) Grad photo proofs are in the main office for pick up.

3) All students interested in joining the 2020 Prom Committee are asked to please meet in the Media Room at lunch hour today.  Our first meeting will be to discuss Prom theme and fundraising.  Join us to make Prom 2020 the year to remember!

4) The MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning has just started their winter programs. They’ve got hip hop, drawing, a music recording program, robotics, coding, film-making, even a ukulele class! There are some brochures available in Student Services or go to macpheecentre.ca for more information on how to register for this free programming.

5) Interested in attending free writing workshops on the Climate Crisis? Take part in a two-day workshop on writing and publishing about the climate crisis. Work with authors, editors, journalists, and poets to learn the craft of writing, including journalism, memoir, essay, fiction, and poetry. These free writing and publishing workshops for youth will take place on January 19th and February 8th. Registrants can attend one or both of the workshops. Snacks and an honorarium (gift card) will be provided.  Speak to Ms. McLean in Student Services for more information on how to participate.

6) MtA Hacks is a two-day computer science conference hosted at Mount Allison University from February 7-8. The weekend will gather 75 university and high school students from across the Maritimes to build projects, attend workshops, and meet industry experts. Teams will brainstorm, build, and pitch projects related to this year’s theme: Games and Education.  If you are an inexperienced programmer, their team will support you throughout the conference. Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. Registration for the 2020 conference is open until January 17th. Go to mtahacks.ca to register.

7) Attention Grade 12 students: Any students who plan to apply for the Kin Canada Scholarship, please note that a representative from that organization is coming to the school to help interested students with their applications. Please come to student services and sign up if you are interested in attending this scholarship application session on January 23rd at 10am.
