• Teachers and students please note the bell at 9:10 and 9:15 will not ring as the IB Exam is being conducted in the library.   Classes will change without the bells.

• The Cole Harbour Cavaliers beat the Auburn Eagles 17 - 0 in fierce battle in Girls Rugby. Scorers for Cole Harbour were Skylar Jardine with two tries, Chloe Cleroux scored one try, and Kasey Manolikakis kicked one conversion.

• Dodge ball finals today – $1 for a Freezie and $1 to watch.

• Permission forms for track and field located outside the gymnasium.  All students competing on Monday need to have forms completed and fees paid.  Schedule of events is posted also.

• The 2018 Prom guest’s application sheets are available in the front office. Applications must be submitted before May 22nd. Prom tickets go on sale May 29th.

• Students interested in becoming this year’s Cole Harbour District High School valedictorian must submit their speech to Ms. Finnemore by Wednesday, May 23. If you are interested in competing or would like to be a judge for the final competition, please see Ms. Finnemore.

• We Act are selling Rafiki bracelets until Monday next week. Bracelets are $10, $5 of which goes to supporting the women in Haiti who make the bracelets then the rest of the funds go to the pillar you have chosen.

• Cavalier of the Year (the former Mr. Cole Harbour) will be held at the school Thursday May 31st at 7pm. Tickets will be sold at the door for only $5 per person. This event will be hilarious and entertaining and will help to lower the cost of prom tickets.

• Ms. Stairs in student services is collecting grad fees. This year's early bird fee is $50 dollars cash only.   If you have any questions, please see Mr. Dean Stevenson in RM 314.  The Graduation Ceremony will be held at school on June 27, 2 p.m.

Attention Grade 12 Students – Post Secondary Opportunities:

• Attention grade 12 students: Nova Scotia Student Assistance will be coming to the school on Wednesday May 23 to assist students in completing their student loan application. If you are planning to apply for a student loan this is a great opportunity to ensure your application will be submitted correctly. Students who wish to participate in this opportunity must see Mr. O’Reilly in student services by Thursday, May 17th.

• The scholarship page on the school website is up and running again. Please check this page regularly for the next number of weeks – there are lots of deadlines coming up for some important awards, such as the Cole Harbour Foundation Scholarships, plus many more.

• Cole Harbour Soccer Club Scholarship Applications are now available. If you are a student with strong academics and strong soccer skills, as well as a history of giving back through coaching or training of other players, stop into Student Services for an application. Deadline for these applications is May 20th.

• Open Houses are not considered school-based activities; missed classes due to attending these events will be counted towards your attendance.
