Cole Harbour District High School

1) Today is KD lunch at the church.

2) There is a Prom Committee meeting tomorrow at lunch in the Media Room.

3) The IB students will be offering Math and Physics tutoring in the Media room today at lunch.

4) Attention all Grade 12 Students:  the 2018-19 graduation will take place on Wednesday, June 26th at 2:00 pm.  The ceremony will be in the school gymnasium.  Please see Ms. Stairs in Student Services to take advantage of the early bird special of $50.00 grad fee– CASH only.  Also, if you have been sized for your grad down, see Mr. Stevenson in Rm 314.

5) “Feeling stressed or just want to relax? The Student Action Committee is offering two 25 minute lunch time yoga classes today and Thursday in the yoga room. Make sure to wear suitable yoga clothes and bring a water bottle! Yoga mats provided.”

6) On Wednesday evening at 6pm, the girl’s Metro High School All-Star basketball game will be played at Mount Saint Vincent University.  This year Cole Harbour High will be represented by grade 10 point guard Glenntisha Downey.  If you can make it out, the girl’s team would love the support!

7) The Girls Field Hockey team is off to a great start. They defeated Sir John A MacDonald last night by a score of 9-1.  Goal scorers were Nele Bostroem, Laurel Myers and Lauren Steinberg each with a hattrick.

8) There will be a Europe 2020 meeting in Room 303 at lunch today.


9) A reminder to all Grade 12s to alert your parents that Survey forms are due Friday for the change of our graduation ceremony to the Zatzman Sportsplex.  We will need a 60% positive response to make this change.

10) Attention Grade 12 students – there are still many Scholarships and Bursaries being added to the scholarship page on the school website. Please check this page regularly for updates. Nova Scotia Power has revamped their scholarship program this year and their new scholarship applications are now available with a deadline of April 18th.  The Pengrowth Scholarship applications are also available – for students planning to pursue Business, Science or Engineering – to apply for this $10,000 scholarship you must submit your application to Student Services by April 19th.  And if you have not yet applied online for Cole Harbour High Scholarships and Awards, you have until next Friday, April 5th to go to the school website and fill out the online application.
