Friday October 19th Announcements

1) All girls interested in playing for the Cole Harbour High varsity basketaball team, there is a sign-up sheet outside of the gym.  All are Welcome!  The first try-out will be today at 2:00 pm in the gym.

2) The first Boys basketball tryout is today from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.

3) There will be a NSSSA meeting today at lunch in the council room.  All forms and cheques are due by Oct 22nd and you can hand them into Mr. Demone.

4) Attention Grade 12 Students – if you are planning to apply to the TD Canada Trust Scholarship, the deadline is November 16th. This Canada wide scholarship is offered to students who are committed to making the world a better place and have shown exceptional initiative in making a meaningful and lasting difference in their community. If this sounds like you, you can find details on how to apply on the school’s scholarship page, or by checking the details on the poster outside Student Services.

5) Dalhousie – Truro Campus and UNB are hosting their Open Houses this Saturday – check the calendar on the school web page for details.

6) A St. Mary’s University Representative will be in our cafetorium on Monday during lunch – she will be doing on-the-spot admissions and waiving the application fee while she’s here.

Your Youth Health Centre (YHC) supports you in making decisions about your health and well being, in a safe environment. The YHC is a partnership between the Halifax Regional School Board and Capital Health. It is staffed by a Public Health professional known as a Youth Health Centre Coordinator.

The Nova Scotia Homework Hub to support students in grades 9,10, and 11 mathematics is now ready for use!
Enclosed please find information cards to distribute to each student enrolled in a grade 9, 10 or 11 mathematics
course and one poster per mathematics teacher. Additional posters can be displayed in a prominent location. E.g.,
Student Services, school office.
