Cole Harbour District High School

October 26th, 2022

Happy Wednesday

1. The recruitment campaign for the House of Commons Page Program for the 2023-2024 academic year is taking place from September 26 to November 6, 2022.

Each year, they recruit 40 bilingual students graduating from high schools and CEGEPs from across Canada to participate in the House of Commons Page Program. Pages work directly on the floor of the House of Commons and are responsible for a wide range of tasks related to Chamber activities. This provides them with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of Parliament by playing a role in the rich traditions of the Canadian parliamentary system.
If you are attending a university in Ottawa next year and are interested in this program, please see the posters around the hallway, or Ms Barry's Twitter feed for more details.

2. The University of Alberta will be in the cafetorium on Thursday, October 27th at lunchtime for any interested students of all grades.  This is your chance to ask them questions, and often times they offer free applications for students looking to apply this year.

3. Buy our cookies to celebrate the spookies! On Monday October 31st the GSA will be hosting a bake sale at lunch outside the cafetorium.
Prices range from seventy five cents to two dollars.  There will also be fifty fifty cent raffle tickets for a cake draw, winner will get a cake made by Cole Harbour High’s very own Co Prez Ava Marie Sampson who will write whatever the winner wants on the cake as long as it’s school appropriate. C’mon on down Halloween Day Monday at lunch for some sweet treats
