1. Throughout the month of October we recognize and celebrate Mi’kmaq History Month.

2. University lunchtime visits are happening this month:
A representative from:

Kings University- October 12
St. F.X. University- October 18th
St Thomas University is here at lunch on October 19th.
They will be here to answer any questions you may have for them regarding applying and attending their university.  They will be set up in the Cafetorium.  Please stop by and visit them.

3. Attention grade 12s.  The Loran Scholarship is still open for applications until Tomorrow October 11th.
The only award of its kind in Canada, the Loran Award (www.loranscholar.ca) is valued at more than $100,000 over four years of university undergraduate studies, including an annual stipend, matching tuition waivers, mentorship, funding for summer work experiences, and participation in an extensive network of past and present Loran Scholars. Selected on the basis of strength of character, commitment to service, and the potential for leadership, Loran Scholars are young people who are humble, inquisitive, and thoughtful; who shun the status quo and pursue unique paths; who collaborate and bring others along; and who will act in the face of injustices to build a better future for all.

4. There will be a girls volleyball meeting today at lunch in room 102.

5. Also, the girls volleyball team travel to West Bedford for a game today at 6:00 p.m.


6. "Attention CHDHS Badminton Club: This Wednesday from 1:45pm - 3:15pm we are hosting our next badminton club session. All students and staff are welcome to attend. See you on the courts soon!"

7. Boys Soccer practice today at 2:00 pm at Wagner Field.

8. Spooky Grams are on sale now until October 30th with delivery on Halloween!  Lets keep scaring up good vibes Cavs!


There will be no after school Judo Today!

9. Learn to make Candy Apples at Teen Night at Cole Harbour Public Library this evening. It runs from 6-7:30 and it is open to all junior high and high school students. It is totally free and you'll get to make your own Candy Apple. That's a free Candy Apple program happening at CH.
